Hi! We’re Cynthia and JJ, and it’s us who’ve had the honour of being the first ones to start up Global Tribe. Come join our big family!
It was a few summers ago. Remember that festival? Remember that hot afternoon on the dance floor? Yea, we were there too. As the heavy bass echoed into the distance, we stomped our feet and churned up the dust, in the middle of over 30,000 dreadlocked hippies dancing in unison. We saw love, we saw community, and we saw the future. Mother Nature was calling, and we were listening. At some point, there was a unicorn somewhere too, but that’s besides the point.
It was the giant music festivals that taught us that human beings are supposed to build our communities on the pillars of peace, love, unity, respect, freedom, joy, and sustainability. Not competition but harmony. Not consumerism but conservation. Not insecurity but mutual encouragement. We took a deep breath, and felt that the love revolution is in the air. And to be part of it, it’s up to us to start something. Something real. Something powerful.
We always knew that ecovillages existed. But we wanted to live in one that also loves to celebrate, works hard, and is deeply spiritual. We sent out our radars, and travelled Europe, Asia, South & North America, and Australia, in search of our new headquarters. We did our research, talked to our friends around the world, and gathered as many ideas as possible. But the big search somehow brought us back to Andalucia, Spain, just 2 hours away from where Cynthia (one of our first Tribe founders) grew up.
Almonte’s strategic location, its warm climate, and its mystical significance, came as a gift. We came here and saw only potential. And we got to work immediately.

A WORLDWIDE CELEBRATION OF LIFE
You see, the freedom and the love we experience at the different festivals could become an everyday thing. And we are determined to turn that into a sustainable way of life. Wake up, thank the universe for being alive, do yoga, thank the sun for giving us warmth and light, go to the fields to take care of our food, be mindful of what we give back to the ground, dance whenever we feel like it, while always respecting and following the rhythms of Mother Earth, and the cosmic bodies.
That’s how we do things here today at Global Tribe. Or we try our best. We’re still trying to rid ourselves of the behavioural patterns that we grew up with; beliefs that no longer make sense when it comes to building a sustainable future. That’s something you can help us and inspire us with.
Today, our Tribe is also involved in organising the beautiful psychedelic gathering Transition Festival here in Almonte. That’s an important branch of our revolution, grounded in the same roots of love and transformation. Our word wizard is the editor of Buddha Mag and the author of Rainbow Warrior Handbook – The Underground Guide to the Psychedelic Revolution. And we have many more revolutionaries out there doing important work. This is a truly Global Tribe, beautiful beings from all around the planet coming together to try to heal the world, to encourage us to once again let our hearts beat to the pulse of Mother Earth.

Our love revolution would be nothing without you. Come join us and bring back our humble philosophy, and spread love in your own communities. We’re also looking to turn Global Tribe into a regional centre for plant medicine treatment, healing, yoga, and meditation. We see it turning into a hub for people to come experience and start their own sustainable living. All in all, Global Tribe aspires to become a global community of arts, culture and knowledge, a fiery soul of love and creativity, and a powerful force for positive change.
